About Me

Learn more about my journey as a Philippines-based Software Engineer, my engineering mindset, and the technologies that drive me to build scalable, efficient, and modern systems.
My profile picture
Hi, I'm Harold Eustaquio, a Software Engineer based in the Philippines with a passion for building robust systems and solving real-world problems with code. My journey started when I was just 13, writing my first programs and competing in regional coding competitions—and I've been hooked ever since.Over the years, I've explored everything from scripting games to designing backend systems and distributed services. I'm currently focused on engineering scalable applications using Node.js, TypeScript, Rust, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, and Redis—often deployed to the cloud via AWS. I also experiment with blockchain, neural networks, and low-level systems to stay ahead of the curve and sharpen my problem-solving edge.

My Engineering Philosophy

My approach to software is rooted in clean architecture, performance, and long-term maintainability. I believe great engineering isn't just about writing code that works—it's about writing code that lasts, scales, and can be understood by others. I enjoy designing modular systems, working with event-driven architectures, and applying patterns that keep codebases flexible and efficient.I'm especially motivated by challenges—whether it's optimizing a query, debugging async race conditions, or architecting a multi-service infrastructure. My mindset is always to ship value while building foundations that won’t break under growth.

What Drives Me

I'm driven by curiosity and the desire to innovate. I love the rush of turning complex ideas into working systems, and the satisfaction of seeing clean code in action. From hacking on new ideas to grinding through LeetCode problems or mentoring peers, I'm always looking to push my limits and grow as an engineer.

Beyond the Terminal

Outside of engineering, you'll find me gaming, coding for fun, driving around to clear my head, or exploring new stacks and developer tools. I also used to play guitar in a band and once served as president of the Janssenian Knight Scouts Alumni Association—a leadership experience that shaped my collaborative mindset. Thanks for checking out my profile. Feel free to browse my projects or reach out if you're looking to collaborate, build something ambitious, or just want to geek out over Rust or distributed systems.
